Michael Wendt

Michael Wendt was born in Cleveland and now lives in Berea. He has been acting in some capacity since he got the lead as Ebeneezer Scrooge Jr. when he was 5 years old in an update of A Christmas Carol.

During high school, Michael appeared in several plays, and he continued on with it at the University of Akron. During his time in college, he was a part of the sketch comedy show Akron After Hours and appeared in several short films.

His first feature-length film was Rob Lucas' American Stories, which was produced through the 2380 project, a film organization with UA. Wendt was an intern for Robert De Niro's Tribeca Productions, and that internship really got him interested in producing and directing. After returning from New York, Wendt started laying the groundwork for what would become his directorial debut, The End of the World As We Knew It, a documentary about the state of radio, focusing on the former WENZ 107.9 The End radio station. It recently had its world premiere at the Cleveland Cinematheque and is now being submitted to film festivals.
